Where are the older L's ?

Whenever I have a look at XRL's for sale they are almost always 2011 or 2012 models that cost anything from 42k up to the 50's which imho are quite expensive. I have seen almost zero pre 2010 models. Do they exist and were they sold here in that period ? Is there bikes avalibale in the high 20 to 30k range to compare with the DR650 ?
