Some challenging routes in the mountains today!

Taken Rinkink out for his first solo ride. Northern circle route around Cullinan from Pretoria. Varied road conditions: tar, good dirt, kak sinkplaat, sand and the De Twee Riviere (or something like that, can't remember) road that has got lots of rain damage, but was fun. Bike handled as expected, but the Tourance needs to go.

Stats
Total kms: 156 km
Total dirt: 43 km
Ave speed: 50 km/h
Fuel consumption: 2.8 l / 100 km (according to the onboard computer)

Fun facts
310GS: one week old, demo, with 400 on the clock
BMW boots and Lookwell jacket: 22 years old
Bialetti moka pot: circa 1991

After many years away from the Cape I recently retired and have moved back. Saturday was a chance to have a look around at some of the nearby areas. Not many pictures but a copy of the route.

I also need to meet a few other lucky folk who have no real commitments and are able to ride when they like. Have bikes - will travel.

I'm considering to take a good friend with his 1200GS here, but dunno how much filth & what kind of terrain he will brave.
We will see....  ;)

Thanks, the old girl serves me well  :thumleft:

The water made for interesting riding. I was there 2 weekends ago with the SE, has to climb onto the railroad track, on a GS that would have been impossible. The gap between the cement sleepers are not always filled with those loose rocks, so the 19 inch front wheel would get stuck in those gaps.
