Guyz put together a quick comparison of the WINGS mufflers vs the Akrapovic
WINGS vs Akrapovic
Similarities:
- Both made from titanium.
- Both manufactured overseas (not that that is always a good thing).
- Build quality pretty much on par WINGS may pip Akro's by a hair on one or two things.
- Advantages of titanium is of course heat transfer, you can ride it for hours and it's only warm to he touch
- Both light.
-Both approx same weight Akrapovic 2.4kg vs 2.5kg WINGS.
- Exhaust note very comparible between both, with WINGS having a slightly deeper note dependant on which DB killer you use.
Disadvantages:
- Akrapovic's very expensive depending where you buy, upward of R18k a set for a KTM950/990.
Advantages:
- WINGS prices less than 1/2 of Akro's that should do it off the bat.
- Sound is subline on WINGS and comes standard with 2 db killers one for soft and other slightly louder or remove db killers all together.
- Akrapovics come with a recognized name and span across all manufacturers.
- WINGS dedicated to manufacturing only for KTM.
- Both have significant effects on performance and are equally comparitive.
- Mapping for both is same can use Akrapovic if required.
- WINGS dedicated to customer satisfaction and have all parts availabvle from damping to clamps and internals.
- WINGS pricing off the bat kills Akrapovic which are up to 2.5 times more expensive!
