Having spent a long weekend camping in what is more or less the coldest time of the year for, I found myself and some friends scrounging for fire wood.
Between using an axe, brute force, a bow saw and a foldable saw we were able to ensure that our campsite was smoky and warm for the duration.
A saw is much more efficient than an axe when it comes to collecting firewood.
We sawed some very big logs on the first day with a bow saw and a foldable saw. By rotating the logs we were able to cut log about 250-300mm in diameter.
Sawing is thus quicker and uses less energy and in the absence of a chain saw is a life saver.
