Reading the History of Southern Africa one may come to the conclusion that our history is inscribed in blood upon the canvas that is our Beloved Country, with the AK47, R1/FAL, the Lee Enfield and Mauser rifles not to mention Black Powder Muskets and Rifles and Bayonets
However perhaps the weapon that truly had the greatest impact was the Zulu Short Bladed Stabbing Spear.
Disdaining the idea of throwing the Spear at the enemy, Shaka’s Impies preferred to close with the enemy and then stab them. They went on to conquer an area close to the size of Western Europe with it!
The shorter handle and long blade made for a wicked close quarter combat weapon.
Hand Forged by Hylton Rutherford the Assegai is made to scale using traditional forging techniques.
