Hi,
I posted this on the XR125 section, but there does not seem to be a lot of movement in that section. Maybe someone here can offer some advice:
Hi Guys,
Bought my wife a XR125L to learn to ride. The bike has been standing for over 2 years and only has 700km on the clock.
I cleaned the carbs properly (6 times already), installed a fuel filter. Flushed the tank with clean fuel and put new fuel in it.
I am battling to get the bike to idle. It starts only with the choke on, even when hot. I turned the pilot screw at the bottom of the carbs 1 and a half turns out. Once started I can drop the choke and the bike runs fine, just won't idle. I can keep it alive by blipping the throttle and there are no issues.
If I turn the screw on the side of the carb in it revs very high and when n pull the throttle, the revs stay high for some time before dropping and dying. If I turn the screw outward, the bike revs fine but still no idle.
Please help as I am on the edge of booking it in at a shop and it's such a stupid problem I would normally be able to fix.
Thank You
