Been on my to do list for 4 years! cant call me impulsive.
Had the mechanicals overhauled for me by Cava Engineering - water had found its way into the engine sometime in the past.
and then upgraded electricals to 12v.
Now the 'complex' stuff is finished... no excuses for me.
Started by seeing if the paint needed replacement and discovered the magic polishes i had can do a great job of bringing the old paint back to life. Rubbing compound and then a decent coloured polish and then a top polish..... lots of finger wearing down but beats a repaint. Plan B looking good..
and then I discovered the dreaded R.... RUST in the one side 'pod'. More than just a quick sand off and repaint will do as it has gone right through the panel. Took me two hours to remove the blasted thing as the fixing were all loose and well hidden inside.
So change of plan back to plan A, full strip and frame up sandblast and repaint.
These are the before pics - the camera lies as to the paint actually shining.
