Zumo sound quality

I've tried using the Scala Rider bluetooth headset with the Zumo but the sound quality sucks big time. I then tried a set of Sony earplug phones but the volume comming through the phones is a joke even with the zumo on 100%. I also tried a set of Autocom helmet speakers direct into the zumo but still almost zero volume.
Anyone have any solutions?
