Ya no mine was still the same code. It was a 84 Mk1 golf that was about 35% rust so it probably shouldve been a code 3.

I’ve done it with a project car. Wasn’t too bad. Just police clearance license place, have some sort of invoice showing the new engine number and yeh.

I only use 95 so ya. No issues on starting.

I've never had a cold start issue on me. It sounds like a bucket of bolts, but it starts right every time.

I took my 1290 on the back of my Supercab. Straight with back wheel juuuuuust on the tailgate (but mainly on the hinged part so very little weight on the gat itself. Diagonal will fit a bit better for sure.
