Hows it guys,

A sad story here.

Grampa worked his whole life as a working class mechanic and bodyshop repairman. At age 60'ish he took all of his life savings and pension monies and started his own panelbeating business with a partner who would handle the admin and finance and he would handle the workshop and customers. Long story short, that F!@#$ mangled all the business monies in such a way and disappeared and the business was declared bankrupt and the partner got all his life savings somehow. Somebody was very kind and offered him an 'under the table' low rate paying mechanic job, just enough to get by, and he has been working there till now, where he was told he has to leave now as he is too old to work there anymore. 76 years old. He is now forced to sell is stuff for survival purposes and I am helping him out.

Old Grampa found a Once in a life time collectors bike on a farm in the Freestate. An original 1983 BMW R100RS with the panniers and backrest on the bike. The bike was stored under a cover in the shed for almost 30 years. The reason being that the original owner bought the bike and realised that the bike was not really made for the farm environment. Grampa bought it about 2 years ago. The bike has 8489 kilometers on the clock. Yes you read that correct!

Grampa, being a mechanic, serviced the bike as is from the farm and it started first time. This bike still has its original 1983 tyres if im not mistaken.

2 weeks ago Gramps was told he can no longer work at the dealership anymore as he is too old being 76 years old. He is very emotional about this sale and says that he cant afford to live without this job really and if he must sell then he must sell. They have 2 bikes Really but the main focus is on this BMW classic find.

Make - BMW
Model - R100RS
Year - 1983
Mileage - 8489km
Extras - Panniers, Rear seat backrest

Price - R50 000 highly negotiable

Guys, This is a classic bike with less mileage than my bicycle and in full running condition. I will be riding it back to JHB myself to see if there is anything fundamentally wrong with this bike. If so I will personally take it to BMW boksburg and get it repaired with original parts if they can get any.

Please help me sell Gramps Bike. I would love to see this go to a collector. I myself cant help him out but would love to keep it if I could.

The other bike is a Honda Shadow 1999 600cc with 28000km on the clock and belongs to Grams. Price +- R30000
