Book at Melkboomsdrift Lodge for a minimum of 2 nights over the weekends of 22 / 23 Aug, 12 / 13 Sep or 19 / 20 Sep. Prices are as advertised on the internet @ www.melkboomsdrift.co.za Apart from grand luxury 4 star accommodation, you will get an accompanied motorcycle day ride along any of a number of routes. Route choice depends on the group and on news as to where the best flowers have been seen. Lunch stops are for your on account.
Saturday evening includes a free dinner to the value of R220, promising a pleasant social to complete a delightful day of riding and viewing flowers.
The ride will be at a relaxed pace and ample time will be allowed to stop and take pictures. Routes option may include:
- The Beeswater dirt road from Vredendal to Loeries fontein and returning to Melkboomsdrift via Nieuwoudtville viewing flowers along the way
- Taking the tar road to Nieuwoudtville and then visiting Papkuilsfontein and continuing on via the Botterkloof pass and Pakhuis pass to Clanwilliam before returning to Melkboomsdrift including a ride along ‘old N7’ dirt road past Bulshoek dam
- A route toward Lutzville & Koekenaap including Brand se Baai, Lepelsfontein and Garies with one or two dirt road passes thrown in before returning to Melkboomsdrift
- A short ride up the Maskam (Gif Berg) from Melkboomsdrift, which is an excellent choice as after-breakfast ride the Sunday morning.
