The Winkler was our base for the weekend and the routes were sublime!

this was one time I was really longing to be there. its a 1000km commute there and another 1000km back, so just doesn't make sense, but I very nearly still went. You guys had awesome fun, will be enjoying the pics to come!
 
[member=14604]JesseH[/member] , [member=8559]trevo[/member]  and I were planning on riding together on the Black route for day one. As we left the venue, it was clear that a bunch of guys, some of them without GPSs, were latching on to our group for the ride. I was concerned as we were all on smallish bikes and having ridden with Trevor and Jesse before, we were confident with our small group's skill level on the route. Within the first few km, most of the guys had fallen, gotten lost or dropped back off the pace..... :peepwall:

Route started out following the Casterbridge Enduro green route and included some riding through forestry areas

Wasn’t long before it became a bit more technical......

Wiaan was on his first proper offroad ride with the 1090 and was very impressive despite his lack of experience on the big V-Twin

The off-camber descents and climbs with deep erosion ruts and holes were intimidating.

Rest of the morning cosisted of fast paced sand riding with lots of dust and as a result no photos.....


Lunch stop was nect to the railway line on the Kruger Park border. Fantastic meal and cold drinks
