Replaced the back tyre on my 03 1150gs today. The guys at BMW told me that the rear brake pads needs replacing and quote me R739.86 excl vat.
I almost shit myself and asked them if they can replace it with aftermarked pads ??? The reply was that they don't fit aftermarket pads anymore because the aftermarket pads eats up the discs :xxbah:
After a bit of thinking i decided to buy the pads. They gave me 10% disccount so i had to pay R759-10 for the pads. I decided to fit it myself as they wantwed R210- for fitment and also as my bike have ABS the pads were about R200 more than that for the standard bike :'( :'(
What brake pads do you guys use on your bikes and what is the difference between the standard and ABS pads ???
The part nr for the pads is C 34 21 7 660 281, gold colored "Brembo" on the back.
