Great project for a kid to play with.......

I just now hooked it up to my 48V solar battery and lifted the rear wheels off the ground, and the wheels still spin nicely. The motor is 3 speed plus reverse which you can select with switches, and an electric brake. The rear brake on the quad is working as well.

No cross border travel is a myth. There is a road block on the R24 between Magalies and Rustenburg where they waste your time. But that is easily bypassed on dirt. On the R509 out of Magalies towards Koster there is no road block. There were a bunch of guys on adv bikes on the railway road last...
