Remove these panels on both sides of the bike. IIRC there are two hoses: both of them were replaced. I presume the one downstream of the airflow sensor was the culprit, since the leak would cause a difference between the measured and actual flow.

Just to resolve this thread, it seems to have been a split-open vacuum hose. Just age, I think - the bike is a 2009 model. Julian (Superbike Solutions) also did my valve clearances, reset TPS, etc. Running fine now. I also took it to BMW for a software update, because I think that's never been...

The front rim of my 800GS is dinged. I can get a good condition 2nd hand rim from one of our friendly Dogs, but it's the rim only, no spokes, hub, etc. Is it possible to transplant my current spokes and hub onto the replacement rim, and who in the Cape Town area would be able to do something...

Just to resolve this thread, I fitted the Ferodo kit and it works fine. This is on the first model (2009).
