A day in the workshop ...

Nah, new as in new to this bike. Good 2nd hand box. You will probably pay more than the bike is worth for a new box.

🤷‍♀️ No idea, but it must have made a moer of a noise before it failed. Gearbox is history. ½ balls everywhere.

A day in the workshop ...

Oops of the week. I was considering repairing it, but then decided just to put it back together and fit a Boosterplug. I have been led to believe they resolve any issue. :ROFLMAO:

A classic mini clubman, and time on my hands.

Does your mini have one of these braces tying the bottom of the motor to the body? My ex's Mini also had a horrible shudder and was constantly shearing engine mountings. It took me about a year to discover why. I came up behind her in traffic one day, waiting to turn right at a traffic...

BMW swingarm; is this replaceable ? cant find the name of it on the net.

You can try, but it will most likely take you a lot longer doing it that way than just removing the entire swingarm. Getting the boot to seat correctly, and then getting the shaft splines aligned with the swingarm in the way is a real bitch. It takes less than ½ an hour to remove the swingarm.

Well, you have to remove the pivot to remove the swingarm.

BMW swingarm; is this replaceable ? cant find the name of it on the net.

    1. No, BMW will not repair it. They will quote you for a complete rear subframe. 2. I have changed these rubber boot regularly for the last 15 years, and have never encountered a broken screw there, neither have I ever broken one off myself. 3. Yes, it is part of the frame. Not sure what you...

    Drive shaft boots

You can get them on Amazon or from aliexpress. Temu may even have. When you order, order 4 of each. And then also start saving up another R14k for a new driveshaft. I made the mistake of ordering these Chinese variants, also aimed at saving a few bucks. Was a total waste of money. Really...
