Looking for someone in Gauteng that can restore my bike's plastics

I did a restore on a XR 500years back. Used Brasso on the plastics and worked out with no issues. Bit of elbow grease but worth the effort. Plastics were well weathered with that white flakey coating.

Where has your bike taken you today?

    Pricing! Where is it going?

I work with the Beer Index, pint in UK VS SA VS Oz etc. SA still a lot cheaper Especially when converting Rands to GBP 😞😞😞😢 New bikes in UK are expensive, not matter what end of the scale you earning. Still amazes me though, how some brands can sell them for what they do vs what they go...

    Enfield - Himalaya's - who locally?

Did the Himilayas with a mate last year September, booked directly with Ride The Himalayas, based in India. Well organised, great support team and 15 days of epic adventure. There are loads of different operators out there, I can highly recommend Rahul and his team. No Bullshit and you want...

    Pricing! Where is it going?

I ride Triumphs, when I bought the first spoke wheel version Explorer 1200 back in 2012, it was around 45k more expensive in UK and over R100k in Oz at the respective ROE Living now in UK, new explorer is around GBP 20k at 24-1 that's 480k, in SA it's around 350k. Crazy.

    Pricing! Where is it going?

ROE plays a big part, the South African Rand is worth shit and doesn't seem to be getting any better, so only going to get worse. However in saying this, do a comparison of overseas pricing vs SA pricing for the same bike at the respective exchange rates and you might notice bike pricing in...

    Yamaha T7 - No longer a Concept

Having had a 660 back in SA , I pulled the plug on a new T7 World Raid here in the UK. Awesome bike with a few neat upgrades from the stock T7. Dual tanks look super wide but aren't really noticeable whilst riding. Full Colour TFT screen, upgraded suspension and steering damper as stock gear...

Himalayan Heights: Aug 28 to Sep 9 2023

Definitely Spiti Valley, the pass going into Leh, Nubra Valley and Pangong Lake. Early parts of the trip from Manali were also great but the vastnest and scale of the Spiti and Nubra Valleys is just mind blowing. Definitely recommend to others wanting to do this.

Himalayan Heights: Aug 28 to Sep 9 2023

Awesome Ride Report 👍 I was on a tour with Ride The Himalayas from 1st September to 14th September. Slightly different route but same major attractions and road side stops. Probably crossed paths along the way? Most amazing experience and mind blowing scenery with some great people from all...

Taking my bike to the UK

Recently having done this exercise myself, I can say if you bringing household goods in a container then definitely worth bringng your bikes over along with everything you have that's worth bringing. Once you convert ZAR into GBP, things get pricey so it pays to fill a box and ship it over and...

    Hearing protection while riding

Been using these for the past 5 years, the same pair as well. I got them overseas, liked the product that much and actually imported a load to SA, tried moving them in a few accessory stores but the shop owners killed the price with rediculous markups of 200%. Super comfortable and work well...
