In terms of cost saving, my bike works out near as expensive as the car per km after factoring service/tires. I also fond myself getting complacent more easily commuting and as I take bigger and bigger chances, the risks get higher than I like on the bike. But i do take it to work at least once...

Been a very busy couple of weekends, and so the poor girl has been neglected a bit. Got everything off and made a concoction of acetone and some old ABS 3D print jobs from work. Been using it to slowly build up layer by layer. The two halves are connected and fit in all original mounting holes...

As above. Tracks4africa has an excellent online map for free, and is decent at noting when there are gates/pvt access

I've never had fairings repaired, so I'm not familiar with whats recoverable. The fairing has cracked into two halves, and theres some splintering where it cracked. I'll try get a decent picture tonight.

The bike hospital doesn't have, and I'm waiting to hear back from Wicked Cycles. Ryan's has, but I actually found a rally kit available nearby. Never been a fan of the small headlights or solid screen, but the price is good, so I might give that a try. Thank you very much for the leads...

My twin and me had a bit of a vloer moer at the start of the year. I've mostly recovered, but the old girl is still suffering some cosmetic damage. Does anyone have a good lead for a set of front fairings that isn't R10k + import and shipping? Shes the black model, but happy to fix the colours...

Thanks for all the input! It looks to me like the best option will be an enduro spec. The lights was one of my concerns leading up to this as well, and I know maintenance is a bit lighter in regards to top end rebuilds.

I've been thinking recently I should maybe use my 750 Africa Twin a little bit less as a plastic bike, and maybe finally commit to getting one. I learnt on a crf450r, and have been very keen on an older one to scratch the itch. Its use case will be a combination of enduros, dunes, maybe some MX...
