With the electronic ignition I'm building for my mini I can adjust the timing curves with the click of a few buttons. Some settings give you better fuel economy, and some give you more power. But it is a single curve that you can adjust, it is not multiple (predefined) curves that you can select between. Now the question is, what would be the point of having multiple curves to select between? I mean, with multiple riding modes on bikes, for example, do you ever change the mode on the fly, for whatever reason? I had my GS set to dyna mode permanently, and only changed modes when it rained hard - but that's because of the better traction control, not necessarily better/lesser engine power.

I have half a mind (my teachers always told me 😛 ) to simply configure a curve with the most power output, and leave it at that. No multiple curves to select between on the fly. If you don't want all the power then lift your foot.

Or what other advantage is there to having multiple curves that I am missing now?

Or am I overthinking this?
