Many know The Bike Shed by now.. if you don't here is a thread on the new popular 3 in one bike service / tyre / exhaust & bike sales specialists
https://wilddog.net.za/threads/moto...-in-the-northern-suburbs-of-cape-town.283201/
And if you have been following the Kove 800 with it's greatly anticipated launch into the country you have probably been visiting here..
https://wilddog.net.za/threads/kove-800x.285785/
And if you have been following the Kove 450 thread , you can catch up on all the banter here
https://wilddog.net.za/threads/my-kove-450-rally-february-2024.282114/
So it's no wonder this bike is getting so much attention but what if you combined all the threads into an actual dedicated day where you can come look, feel and inspect these bikes while chatting to like minded people over a boerie roll and a cooldrink? Well that is what is happening on the 14th September .. Clinton Pienaar is the man you need to speak to when it comes to the Kove brand in the Western Cape. Operating from The Bike Shed, 5 Kenwil Drive Okavango.
I was fortunate enough this morning to be hosted by Clinton for a walk through of all the facilities as well as getting a close up look at all the hype around the Kove brand starting with the 450 and working my way to the 800 I must say that at 1st sight I am vey impressed with these bikes, up close you can see that these bikes are made with high quality material with precision engineering.. usually my critical eye is finding something I'm not fond of but with these bikes everything is in place with a great quality feel..
When you walk towards a bike there is always something you notice 1st, for me with the 450 it was its stance with the quick release fairings, for years ive been complaining about fairings being too finiky and difficult to get off bikes, Kove fixed that, it may be the rear tank that catches your eye as you may be thinking about how to balance the bike better for your riding style.. but once you lift the seat all you hear is ooooh's and aaaah's.. simple, easy to get to air filter & easy access to the battery.. this bike looks so easy to work on as well. There was a Kove 450 in for a 2000km service and I had a long chat with the mechanic about everything from ease of oil changes to ease of servicing and I was satisified that this bike is simple and eay to work on for those who like to fiddle with their bikes.
Moving onto the 800 and your eyes start to dart all over the place seeking all of those things on a bike you instantly wish to approve of.. low seat height? - only 865mm!! ease of use functionality? looks? this bike seems to have it all.
When I look at a bike am already thinking about the next adventure I will be on and would a bike fit into that lifestyle, this 800 is set to redefine adventure in its class, you can see the Kove 800 is here to set new standards within the motorcycle segment. With its robust 800cc engine, the Kove 800 delivers 71kw which will get you to a rated 210km/h, but if it is technical ability you are looking for the size, shape and extras on this bike should get the nod. The bike looks sleek, aerodynamic and modern with a good seating position enhancing riding comfort and control. The way the light comes off the paintwork is even impressive.
Compared to other bikes in this segment, the Kove 800 stands out with its blend of power, durability and innovative features, its not just a motorcycle but its your ticket to exploring the world like never before.
You can feast your eyes on all the specifications here

Come along to The Bike Shed on the 14th September and book your test ride. Myself and Niel will be there 1st thing in the morning with our bikes fully packed, ready for our wild camping trip up to the Namibian border for the Project X event by Specialised Adventures so get there early if you have any questions about our packing and preperations for our adventure.
Here are some teaser shots I took this morning to wet your appetite
