I think it's time to start with some feedback regarding the time leading up to the trophy and the all the high's and low's of the trophy Namibia.
We were asked not to post of show pics prior to the event mainly because we did not want any competitors getting an edge on us.
I will do some videos of my own training sessions but will not show what happened on the official training itself.
So we had 3 official training weekends.
Lesotho - It's a tradition for the trophy riders to go there with Stefan Boshoff.
Aberdeen x 2(mainly becuase its in the middle of everyone and Country trax assisted us with accomodation and the venue. And since its an official country trax venue everything is set up with training in mind.
so Lesotho 04 July to 07 July 2024
In the middle of winter. so with all typical stefan Boshoff rides no one has got any idea of where we are going.
Stefan always says, Ons kyk waar die gees on heen ly. Started of in bloemfontein with a very cold -5 degrees.
I did not keep track of where we were going, first night we stayed in atype of backpackers in the middle of nowhere. From there we took the scenic route towards Ramabanta for the next night.
On our way out heading towards Maseru just before Roma JP Boer had a partial head on collision with a taxi.
On route, Stefan and dirk will stop. Set up certain challenges that we had to do as a team. Some were tough others were not. But it started the process to see who is the best rider with circus tricks and who is the best for technical riding and who is the fastest. That way we will know how to compete to our strenghts.
What was evident was that we did not gel as a team.................. We had some work to do. Not on riding but communication, trust and how to be a team.
Riding Lesotho is part of forming the team, stronger together as the slogan goes.
Some pics below, i will make a video also.
Ramabanta in all its glory, such nice place
Jp had a small lapse of attention... This could have ended up much more seriously that it did.
In the end we sorted the tappit cover and rode the bike back to Maseru and from there we towed the 1250 because it was leaking to much oil out of the tappit cover.
