Hi all,
About 3 weeks ago I bought this beautiful stock 2010 adventure with 32000kms on the clocks from a fellow WD member - what a cool dude to interact with!
I have been loving every minute of owning this bike as I have been waiting to get my hands on a 990 for quite a long time.
I haven’t done anything to it up to now except take off the scaffolding as I won’t be needing them for the time being.
This coming week I am sending the beast to Superfoxi for a suspension upgrade, we are going up to 265mm so I am keen to see how that ends up, I will post pics here once done.
For now I have a question regarding the heat shields under the tail section, those imsulated aluminium blanket things that sit between the exhaust and the plastic. The right hand side one has finally perished after washing the bike this afternoon. Is this something to be concerned about as I have heard that the extreme heat from the standard cans can possibly cause the plastics to melt? How do I remedy this? Aftermarket cans is on the cards but not right now.
