I had exactly the same problem with the HID's I installed in my 2008 GSA. After about 3 weeks of checking every connection, wire, nut and bolt, it turns out that the globe was upside down. I know it sounds stupid (I am at times) but after turning it around it never failed to start first time?

Sounds like all is right, I would not cut the harness but rather strip some insulation and solder the connection to the exposed wire.

Seriously though probably a courier company might be able to help?
