I have done a very similar trip.  No fuel problems in Zambia.. more than enough stations and 99% have petrol.. would say 70% have diesel. Friendly tip.. take it easy on the Great North.. Many many trucks use this road from Dar into Zambia and other land locked countries causing huge potholes...

I spent a couple of days on one and I had more fun with it off road than with my 800gs.  I'm sold!  Improved in almost all ways on the old 1200, which I have also taken through its paces in many different conditions.  The only really annoying thing, but that's on all new bmw models...the damn...

Someone has been to the BMW World in Munich ;) I have to agree with BIO.  The idea behind HDR is to capture the detail of the brightest and darkest info in one picture of a scene with a huge dynamic range, so that it actually looks the same as what we would experience.  Not only can the eye...

You're right, its best to buy 3rd party insurance at the border.  Shop around at the border.. they usually try to rip you off.  Eventually we got so gatvol of these expenses.. wherever we were not forced to buy 3rd party, we skipped it.  Yes, at times we had to present the 3rd party insurance...
