Then it sounds legit (assuming that the bike started) - the flashing km reading is normal - they need to synchronise the KMs on the ECU with the clocks - done with the BMW service computer.

First try swopping it out with a known working unit to confirm their diagnosis. Normally an EWS error refers to the ECU the bike being switched on, but the ECU not seeing the chip in the key - which normally is either a wiring problem or a problem with the ring antenna.

The Wings is supplied with two different DB killers - the quietest one is very similar to stock (just a bit more thump). I use the more assertive one most of the time, and you have the option of taking them out altogether - which is the only time that you will get anywhare near 'obnoxious'...

Agreed. You will probably have to bleed the system. Probably a good idea to replace the coolant at the same time. Nothing on those pics give any indication why anyone would want to replace the pump. This is the pic that you don't want to see as it will eventually mean a new waterpump ....

The pump failure should leak from the weep hole - there is no 'hose' involved - maybe send up a pic of what you are referring to. Edit - you may be talking about the pipe from the intake drain - in which case, a little oil dripping from there is normal.

Hmm - you could work a switch into the front or rear abs sensor's wiring - then if you switch it, the system detects an error and disables the ABS. Switch back on and cycle the ignition and the ABS will be back online.

Sorry, Andy - no - it was sold over a year ago - I have one or two straggling parts from people that never collected, etc but 99.9 % of the bike is gone. I think that I still have the stock seat too. As for what goes wrong - they are micro switches, eventually dust and associated wear takes its...

The YTX14BS is an AGM battery - you add acid to it once and it is absorbed into the glass mats - no problem.

I have oen for the earlier 800 bikes (2009) - but I think that the 700 had the new switch layout. I have no idea if the flex cable is compatible - what does it look like on the 700?

Nothing wrong with Toplite and they do make AGM batteries. I had a Toplite AGM in my 800.

That's actually just a cover over the clocks and is available separately. (Retail is $155 vs over $600 for the whole unit.

I could write a whole thread on things to look for, but to make it simple, read the comments above, and don't get a bike that is older than 2010 - by then most of the initial niggles were worked out the system.
