Specialised Adventures are really a well oiled machine, I can testify to that. If you are considering a trip of this kind, this is your chance. Certainly a bucket list item for adventure biking. I am getting exited all over again  :thumleft:

Did it in November and don't remember any section of the route being to hectic. Last section to the gate is actually cement where the steep sections are.

Cell phones does not need towers to determine where they are. They need the towers to download maps in some GPS applications. There are standalone applications like Cygic (Tom Tom maps) and OSMAND (Open street maps) that can navigate without any GSM reception, they store the maps on the cellphone.

I rarely get more than 3k from any off-road tyre. Metzeller Karoo 2 & 3, TKC, Mitas E09, Pirelly Rally, Mitas MC23, some of the tyres I have used recently.

HSK I was very impressed with Minxy and the way she conducted herself during the Quest. As you rightfully mentioned, although she never asked for any special treatment, being the only female contestant inevitably presented some unique challenges.  (Finding a mirror to apply makeup would be one)...
