More than enough - the routes "clover" from a central point, and you will be able to refuel every 40km or so. There is a longer outride that can be joined (you must, imho it will be the best route of the weekend), but your range will be sufficient - if not, there will be the option of refueling...

Or a Hero?

Honda as a team is working well together - and the Kalahari Ferrari is still enjoying that distant cousin relationship on the Hero. In the run up to the Dakar I mentioned that Honda came across as the only "team", the rest were riders under the same banner.

Shaun, I think this is your answer - there is a difference between "route" and "tracks" - you can also use GPSBabel to do the conversion

For me it is a no brainer, XR650L, second the DR650; Reliable, strong, carry quite a bit of luggage, spares available etc. The DR is lighter on fuel. Both has plenty of options when it come to kitting it out, and not to expensive. Both can be had much cheaper than going out and buying a...
