W.r.t. the neck brace I think some has already mention it, but she fell to the right and broke her right collar bone, which is "normal" in this instance. Had she hit the ground with her head/helmet it would have twisted to the left and push the brace down to possibly break her left collar bone...

I in fact sold that XS750 and bought this GPZ900... What a beast and quite an upgrade to me at the time! Had a few more bikes in the 25 years since, but I couldn't get rid of the girlfriend in the pic - happily married till this day!
