    Invasion - Oukloof

@Grunder , this is what I mentioned on one of the other threads. Ideal place to do sand without pressure and get comfortable with someone giving you the right advice ....will be well worth the effort I can assure you. Oh ja...and the riding there is fantastic..

    Damaraland & Kaokoland – Finally!

Bart, if I was dealing with my sins, I would probably still be there. Not long after this @hartebees brought me the customary mug of OBS and then sat down next to me and smoked his pipe which is reserved for special occasions. A companionable silence, appreciating the vista followed: no small...

    Damaraland & Kaokoland – Finally!

Nope...3rd as a rider. Working as crew doesn`t count in the context of the comment, but ja, technically the 4th, and definitely not the last.

    The CRF300L thread

Roan you are welcome to call me if you want to discuss 0823578842. My 5c worth: The first 3 days of this particular trip are more on open roads and some of the petrol heads tend to moer it...no problem with that as long as you don`t get caught up in that mindset. I generally arrive at camp last...

    Damaraland & Kaokoland – Finally!

That was a long day.: the schlugt was a highlight for me and I loved the sand riding (apart from the same patch of fesh fesh where I also fell my *** off). Klein Serengeti was stunning, but as Roux said, the day got progressively tougher as we got tired and the last bit after Klein Van Zyl`s...

    Damaraland & Kaokoland – Finally!

What a lekker ride report Roux....thanks for the effort in putting it together. I always suffer from varying degrees of post trip depression (for want of a better word) and reliving it here goes some way to sorting my head out, although we all know deep down that the only real remedy is another...

    Damaraland & Kaokoland – Finally!

Fokkit...had to re-read this once I realised Hardy is talking about me.. Then it dawned upon me...he is just blowing smoke up my *** so I don`t publish pic`s of his dedicated bag used for his "smalls' while in Namibia. Sorry tjom...not gonna work..!

    Damaraland & Kaokoland – Finally!

Nice report so far Roux. Like all of us, I have been i a bit of a "post trip vacuum" since arriving home. Happens every time and a good ride report helps relive the experiences. We were blessed with a nice bunch of riders, good weather and grass in abundance.....good memories. Like me, I`m sure...

    The CRF300L thread

Thanks boet...would be very interested to try your 300 with the mods...I will take the liberty of contacting you when next in the Cape...or even better, bring the 300 and do a trip in this area.

    The CRF300L thread

No Keith...the DR is a keeper and in my opinion better for touring when one needs to load the bike with more equipment and supplies. Whittled the stable down to 2 bikes and for my requirements they are perfect.

    The CRF300L thread

This trip would be a logistical mountain to climb without backup...I have done a number of trips with Specialised Adventures and a backup vehicle in this terrain allows you to ride a light bike and really enjoy the technical stuff without extra weight..

    The CRF300L thread

First of all, this is just a summary of my trip and opinions. I am an average rider , 76kg. I also am not one to bling my bike with accessories unless they add value to the ride. Fitted Dunlop D606 to the rear and Pirelli MT21 to the front. I have used this combination on my DR650 for 2...

    The CRF300L thread

A couple of pics to whet the appetite... Only mods were bashplate ,small luggage rack, handelbar , tailtidy and removed those aweful rear indicators that are mounted onto plastic and are a fokkop waiting to happen. Had lots of queries about mods to the suspension , but after a Namakwa Eco Trail...

    The CRF300L thread

Just back from a 12 day ride in Koakoland with the 300 : epic trip, epic riding and the 300 raised more than a few eyebrows ito its competence. I am a bit of a techno klutz and never post ride reports or reviews, but I will gather some pics and give you my 5c worth. give me a day or two.

    The CRF300L thread

Air filter seemed to be very dirty very quickly on mine as well. Paper filter, so i just blew it clean with compressed air and reistalled. Heading to Kaokoland next week and taking a spare, but also going to experiment with a thin foam prefilter over the snorkel. I have been in the foam industry...
