A day in the workshop ...

No, the intake manifold is still available and has already arrived. What has been discontinued is the intake pipe from the airbox to the throttle body. All those I have managed to find 2nd hand are also buggered.

A day in the workshop ...

Uncle, please can you help. My bike won't start? That's how the conversation started. Some other phrases were thrown into the conversation like "it just stopped" "my friend and his brother tried ..." "it was running fine" "Do you think it could be the fuel pump?" "I googled ..." "When I...

Where can I find this part?

You're in the wrong section. That photo is of an LC crashbar. However, that part you will only get with the crashbar attached. Not available loose. I will dig around and see what I have. I can maybe salvage something from a damaged crashbar.

    Wanted: Valve adjustment tool Suzuki

Make one! I used the back end of an old spoon. Cut the spoon part off and drill a small hole in the one end of the handle. Then file the hole square with a needle file. Bob's your uncle.

No, you get billed for it as I have it in stock, and you live with it. If I wait for you to bring it, I could wait for months (because remember, you don't have money) while your bike occupies space on my floor. Once your bike is done and completed, you have 3 days to pay up and remove it from...

We ask for a quote Then we decide we'll first try ourselves Then, when we get stuck, we'll ask a friend how to do it Then that friend has a go, also gets stuck, but has another friend that once, long ago, saw a spanner. He'll know! Then it gets googled This...

A day in the workshop ...

So a few weeks ago I get a call from a client, requesting a quote for a service on his F800GS, and a tentative date for said service. I duly reply with a date and attach the quote. Two weeks go by with absolute radio silence from him. A few days before the due date I send him a message...

Thanks again @Kamanya. Fortunately I found one this morning, but it's hidden inside this 50mm chunk of aluminium in my scrap bin. Just have to spend a few minutes getting it out. ;)

Sorted! 2003 F650GS Fuel Pump help needed

3 things are needed for combustion Fuel/air Compression (6 bars of it) Spark Of course there a few other factors to include, like valve timing, valve clearances, and ignition timing. Provided you haven't dismantled the top end and removed the cams, the valve timing should be correct (unless...

Sorted! 2003 F650GS Fuel Pump help needed

It's not the pull into the intake that is that relevant. It's the amount of compression the piston can build up. If you have a leaky valve, bad rings etc, ect, and a slow moving piston you cannot build up the required 6 bar pressure for then fuel vapour to ignite. You then pump excess fuel...
