Sorted! 2003 F650GS Fuel Pump help needed

Have you checked your valve clearances? If the bike has been standing a long time, do you not perhaps have a valve that is stuck open?

What is the compression like? Have you done a compression test on it. FWIW, you need in excess of 6 bar for combustion. Maybe you have a stuck decompression mechanism.

Adjusting chain tension, rear drum ?

Take the shoes off and, using a hacksaw, cut a diamond pattern about halfway into the friction material. Make the cuts about 20mm apart. Squeek gone!

Why not just replace the injector, even with a good used one? They are not expensive 2nd hand, probably around R400. FWIW, your bike uses the same injector as an 1150GS.

F800GS heated grip broken, stuck with repair

Nope, won't work. Those grips have small sections where it is bonded through the heater element film down to the bar tube. Those need to be carefully cut while peeling the rubber back.

I'm sure that would have gone down really well, if you'll excuse the pun! :)

A day in the workshop ...

Today I have another one of these leaking, unobtainable fittings. BMW want you to buy the complete pump assembly for around R8k or so. When I tried to remove the fitting, the entire top piece broke off. So drilled 2 shallow holes either side of the spring and used a circlip pliers to unscrew...

F800GS heated grip broken, stuck with repair

You will have a broken track in the mylar section of the heater element. You will need to peel the grip back all the way, or at least up to the point where the break is. They can be repaired. There are aftermarket grips available that look identical to the OEM ones. Just not sure of the quality.

Before I delve too deeply into the wheelchair, I have to get the KTM 990 out of the shop. This is what we had. Needs a little machining and a new thread cut, but believe it will work 100%

Yes, that is something I could fix for you. FWIW, I have a flat rate for repairing an unmolested pump with a 5 year warranty. I have a different rate for pumps that have been tampered with/googled/YouTub-ed to death.

A day in the workshop ...

Yup. And we haven't even delved into what is happening under the bike. I do know I need to do the same mod as the previous one to gain access to the sump plug, but what else I will find is anyone's guess.

Sidecar wheel lead is 220mm, which is fine.

The wheel bolts directly to the 5 hole hub. Anyone with a lathe should be able to make up the correct hub (or even an adapter) for you.

A day in the workshop ...

So, the next wheelchair sidecar rig has arrived, with a bucket load of issues. In all honesty, I do not even know where to start with this one. For starters, this one is WIDE!!! Measures 2051mm from the widest point on the bike to the outside of the weirdly offset cart wheel. Issues...
