Well well well,
I Ride that route everyday, either on the BWS or my Grey GS.
Today I saw a yellow Fong Kong scooter at the Main / Witkoppen lights that looked as if it had recently been in an accident.
The front left panel was badly damaged and was held on by packing tape.
I usually wouldn't...
Subie, I have this sitting at my parents place! Hasn't run since 2011. Needs work. Just gathering dust!
Make an offer.
I also have this sitting there, its a 50cc. Since you like old bikes.....
As you can see everything still works...
Engine will start if you clean the carb, new...
I owned one of these when I lived in thailand!
Amazing little machines!
If I had the spare $$$ and you lived in JHB...
Good luck with the sale!!!
Ps, does this have the combi-brake system?
Muz, the pulse is a big boy.
I'm unsure of the reliability, but there are Big Boy dealers everywhere and their service is great apparently.
I also think those came in 125 and 150's. (4-stroke)
@Jacobsroodt
I commute everyday on a Yamaha BWS, indestructible engine, light and nippy!
I have 22 000kms on mine (2004-Ten years old) and it goes better than new!
Really reliable too, just keep an eye on the 2-stroke level and you'll be fine!
Usually get about 125kms on a +-4.5L full tank...
For my 18km round trip = Most days on the Yamaha BWS (fastest through traffic), occasionally my 650GS!
Interestingly enough the GS is lighter on fuel than the BWS!
GS - 24.17km/l - 4.13l/100km
BWS - 21.2km/l - 4.71l/100km
I think mainly because the BWS is full tap all the time!
aka.Goliath, my folks have a spot 20kms past the turn off to Zavora, I'm riding up around the 20th- 21th December, I'm the only bike, in a convoy of 3 cars, and trailers. Perhaps you'd be keen to join our convoy?
Not sure if this has been posted here already, but this just might be the fastest DS bike ever.
Wouldn't like to do a long trip in that seating position, but would be fun to rip up a few trails here and there!
Heres the link where I stole the pics from...
Very interesting opinions here, I have a fairly short commute everyday, 7kms one way, from Fourways to Sunninghill.
I have a choice of my GS or Yamaha BWS scoot. (MTB once or twice too), but mainly use the BWS cause Witkoppen road is a disaster ALL THE TIME.
I find that using the scoot is the...
