I have a Dakar and did about 77k km on it since 2016 (edit) till July 2019, daily commute of 80 odd km's. ABS  and heated grips is the two things that stands out. Issues had over that time other than normal services: 1) Rear shock leaked and was serviced 2) Dash lightbulbs had to be replaced 3)...

Update, Sy is aan mekaar! Paar Kleiner dingetjies on klaar te maak: - Topbox wat gespray is aanmekaar sit, - Handguards - Spotlight - Screen polish..... en die pannier brackets fit as die spacers gemaak is. Sent from my SM-G955F using Tapatalk

I found it is dependent on the inspection officer. My sons KLE500 they checked specifically for it. My Dakar they same facility did not check it. Play it safe and have them on the bike even if you borrow it and return after the test.
