    Ultimate Himalayan

I don't see a lot of cladding. Might be sophisticated materiel but there's commendably little of it. This granny doesn't wear very much but unashamedly shows her lean and wiry torso which is a lot less baggy than some of her juniors, so why shouldn't it be skimpy and sexy?

    Julle Willowmore/Uniondale/Joubertina Manne....

Was actually thinking of Uniondale, but same applies to Willowmore.

    Julle Willowmore/Uniondale/Joubertina Manne....

No doubt Willowmore has declined just like most other places sadly. A particular pest are the kids who want to 'look after' your bike. But there are still some lekker places there to pull in for eats.

    Fortnine on the DesertX

So. Whaddya think about that? I know what I think, but I've already wasted too much time watching the operation to comment further. So moving on......

    QUEST FOR BETTER LIGHTS

I certainly take the point about the bloody potholes.

    QUEST FOR BETTER LIGHTS

Very puzzling to me, this. 'Cos I'm old you see. I always thought that the very reason motorbikes were fitted with lights was to light your way in the dark at night. That's how it was when I got my first bike. It was winter time and darkness was from about 16:30 until about 08:30 or...

    Lamborghini bike 😳

In the 1920's Ferrari ran a racing team, but they didn't make bikes. They used Nortons. Without air filters.

    Fortnine on the DesertX

And so it bloody well should be, on any bike. Likewise the spark plugs, oil filter and drain plug, and sprockets. And electric globes. No matter that you only do the job every 50k km. Shouldn't make any difference. Why do designers hate DIY maintenance owners?

SA Needs This: Affordable Trail/Enduro Bike

I'm guessing the oil level window is for the gearbox only? What about the motor, Pre-mix, or positive oiling?

    Happy festive season all!

All WD's, be safe and be festive. Come back safe if you're going anywhere. I'm going nowhere 'cos I'm here already all the time, nowhere better.

    Honda NC750 Owners

Had to skim back through that vid a couple of times to see that those guys were riding NC's. On the Zuurberg pass. Kudos to them. I remember doing it a couple of years back on my X Challenge. Solo, because none of my mates were prepared to ride it with me. Called me a dopey old bugger and what...

    Honda NC750 Owners

Never ridden one so how am I qualified to comment? Well I have a couple of regular riding mates who are both on their second NC. No reason to replace their first one apart from the fact that they have the money. Both have nothing but praise for reliability, economy and performance that suits...

    When buying a bike ....

Why do I get the feeling some posters are tongue in cheek about their preferences? Or maybe they're really not.

Help Me Find the Bike Model

Rambling a bit off topic, sorry G. A mate of mine has a Pan European. Handsome machine of it's genre, but he damaged a side mirror fubar. Integral part of the fairing there was no possible match but original. Took weeks from Japan and though I don't remember the figure, there was no point...

    When buying a bike ....

3, 4, 6, 2 and the rest don't matter. But the order could change should my fortunes change. Unlikely :cautious: Looks? Nah, function over form every time. Yeah, but. No fugly 'rally' frontage. 🤮

    HIGH mileage!!!!

Not 100,000 I'm sure that's not too uncommon, But 550,000. Yikes, now there's a man who changes his oil and filters, and doesn't let his engine idle too much, nor rev the shit out of it to amuse spectators. Still, the full story needs to be known.

    Tragiese fratsongeluk

Wow, how lucky I was.!!! Saw one rise from the road in front of me and had a nanosecond to duck my head. It hit me square on the crown of the helmet at about 110. The impact wasn't much and I carried on riding, thinking I'd have a 'close call' joke with my mates later, but they were horrified...
