The long range on the Tenere's tank is also a bonus for long trips.

Managed to get a morning kitchen pass and found some back roads to Balgowan. Had breakfast in Notties and then hit the black mac to be home by lunch.

Hahaha... While you were swimming, I was riding.... Had another Tenere with me too.

Am very keen to do Sani. Have ridden to the border post, then turned back 'cause I didn't have my passport. The ride to there was pretty easy going on the Tenere. Did it by myself whilst on holiday in the 'berg. I think the top switchbacks are where you really have to have a bit of talent, or...

Correct. AFAIK they are referred to as "tuff tubes" or "enduro tubes"

Ja Skeet... I have Tubeless tyres with the Heavy Duty "Tuff Tubes". Great for peace of mind on rough roads, but didn't help me this weekend with a 2" nail straight through though. Replacing with another "tough tube" ( keeping the other for a spare)

I see in your pic a rear wheel (still attached to a bike), and in another pic a front wheel (still attached to a bike), so presume there was more than 1 bike available. I agree  with Bushman_2. Nothing wrong with a little oil cooled job,  but if you have money, an inverter is the way to go.

Where do you go in Westmead? Giba?
