I bought this bike as a project for the quiet times between work.  It never worked out that way.  I got it as a non runner after it had stood for a number of years.  The PO before me, painted it black.  It had an electrical fault that I repaired - broken wire to one of the coils.  I got it...

I will be doing a ride with my brother, georgstals , at the end of September.  Our meeting point will be Barrydale and we will have a few days to ride around.  My trip style has become very unplanned, but I want to organize this a bit better. Direction doesn't matter, say a route for 4 days...

I want to carry a back-up CDI on the XR.  Has anyone got a unused one.  If anyone has an old or suspect one, I can open it and try to repair it  :thumleft:
