Seems like you are set on KTM? If you've ridden one and it made the beast in your soul come alive nothing else will satisfy you much. I would take that 950 with 45k km in a heartbeat - for the money you will struggle finding any bike that compares even remotely

Yeah, it is easy to underestimate dehydration during a long day out in the sun - and when you have to start picking up/pushing a bike or change a tyre in 40deg heat a few times things can go south quickly. I easily go through 3L+ on a long hot day out on the bike

Sometimes there are really good bikes to be found - got my last XChallenge from WBC PE, after only speaking to the salesman from where I live in CT. Super clean bike, as advertised, at what I consider a steal if I compare it to similar types of DS bikes Ok, but maybe not a KTM 690 😄 But yes...
