Lately my Dakar makes a 'pebble in tin can sound' with start-up.  Could it be timing chain related? 2002 Model with 85000km on clock.  Bike runs fine after start-up.

Also known as lambda sensor. Is there a replacement interval on this? Surely it gets less effective over time, getting blocked with soot etc. I did use leaded fuel once in emergency. Is there a Bosch part no? Bike now on 70 000km.  New sensor might also improve fuel consumption

I recently noticed my front wheel had slight play at the axel. I removed the wheel, and when examining the bearings, i noticed the left bearing could easily be pushed out by hand. Thats supposed to be a tight fit. Any ideas how to remedy the situation? Hopefully i dont have to find another hub?

I need to get my Dakar's forks (fixed tubes) re-chromed as result of stone pitting causing leaking seals.  Where can I have it done in Cape Town area?  Does the tube diameter stay the same after re-chrome?  Any idea of cost?  Thanks!

How safe is it to tow a bike for some distance? I've heard that the chain driven output shaft / bearings / gearbox can be damaged.  Is this as a result of running the gears without engine oil pressure?  Not always easy to remove an endless riveted chain.
