    Chain Cleaners

I am more and more impressed with FortNine's videos. Here's an in-depth test of a couple of chain cleaners. Many of the brands won't be available here, but I'm amazed at how practical his testing methods are! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UrEpAUi_QKA

KLR Steering head bearing seal - Ping Groenie and Lecap

There is an interesting thread over on the KLR Clan where a member mentioned that the bottom seal (for the steering head bearings) was fitted upside down. The first is a pic of the "before"-orientation and the second is a pic of the "after"-orientation. Every pic I can find (including the one...

    "Bounce" at low, constant speeds

Hi guys, My KLR has developed a bounce at low constant speeds. While accelerating and at higher speeds the bounce is not that noticeable, but at any constant speed between 30 and 60 km/h the bounce is significant. No left-to-right movement, only up and-and-down oscillations. I initially...

    Swaziland/Diepgezet - Okt 2014

Hi guys, I have a 2007 Fugly with +-60 000km on the clock. For some reason it keeps blowing the fan fuse. It is not critical, because I do not plan on doing any technical riding too soon, but I would like to get it sorted out. Glass fuses replaced with blade type, fan turns easily by hand...

    2001 Mazda Rustler 1300 (calling Lecap/auto electrician)

Hi all, I have a Mazda Rustler bakkie with 170k on the clock. Basically the old Mazda 323 (B3 engine) - same as the one Lecap is selling. In other words no fancy electronics. I was hoping someone could help my diagnose the issue I'm experiencing: Sometimes (intermittently, but especially after...

    Suidoos Botswana in 'n neutedop

Jackets and pants - my opinion

This isn't to criticise, I'm just wondering how many people are in the same boat as I am. I cannot understand why people would take out anywhere between R5000 and R25000 for a pricey whichever brand jacket and pants (or full suit). Injuries do not ask the value of your bike, but it also do not...

    Rear shock question

Hi guys, How do I know when my rear shock needs rebuilding/refreshing (new oil and nitrogen)? I have changed the oil in my forks 3 times and am amazed every time by the difference it make! Surely at 58 000km the rear shock oil should be pretty nasty? It feels like my rear end is a bit looser...

    Airbox (clean side) drain

Guys, Inspect the drain pipe on your KLR's airbox clean side (infront of filter). It is right next to the exhaust, which causes it to go brittle and break. This creates a filter-bypass for dust and water, straight into the carb. Don't know if the problem is fugly-specific.
