For those of you who can recall, my fuel consumption dropped to 12,9km/l after installing the "free flow" 1150 silencer, de-catting my 1100 and pulling the CCP. Consumption improved to 15km/l when I put the "guts' back in the silencer. Eventually I decided to put the OEM exhaust system back on the bike and replace the CCP.
On our trip to the Cederberg last weekend, the bike was heavily loaded with luggage and my wife rode pillion. Over 500km (of which 400km was tar and speeds were between 140 and 160km/h), I averaged an almost unbelievable 17,9km/l!!
Defenitely not getting rid of the stock system again........
