FabMan
Pack Dog
Been working on a new bash plate for the 1190 that I would like to share with you and get some feed back on your opinions of prose and cons.
Prototype is made of 4 mm 5083 aluminium but final product would probable 6 mm. From my research it seems that most end inline with the foot-pegs, leaving the exhaust exposed. The other issue would be the lack of protection to the side-stand. Blackdog does seem to address these issues bu relocating the side stand and extending the plate to cover the exhaust.
I have extended the plate to cover the exhaust as well as adding a rib on the right side which will improve the rigidity way more than solely having a flat tab.
For the side stand issue I have added a deflector right in front of the side stand that I do believe will eliminate any blows from the front.
The rear mounting is connected to both the engine and frame.
I do believe that 4.5 to 5 mm aluminium is ample but am leaning towards 6 mm just to make it kick ass. Your input would be appreciated.
P.S
Pricing will be determined once I have got it on CAD and have received some quotes for laser cutting of material.
