Hi everyone.
I got a 1981 XL 500S from my dad and it needs some TLC. There is a unusual noise coming from the engine (someone said it is the timing chain). Otherwise the bike is in a really good shape. I would like to get it running again without that noise and do some touring eventually with the bike. This is my first bike so i am really excited.
whilst im busy i also want to give the bike a good service and fix other stuuf that comes up in the process.
Can anyone maybe tell me if it could be the something else making that noise? how will be the best way to go about fixing it. Is there perhaps someone that has done this before?
Any help will really be appreciated, as i am new to this.
