Hi All,
I am in the process of finalising a deal on a 1983 XT600 Tenere (34L / 55W) as a project bike. The current owner has done the following:
1. Powder coated frame
2. Reconditioned the engine - top end
3. Redone the electrical work - all lights, indicators, etc ere operational.

Work to be done seems to be:
1. Wheels - sand blast, anodise, relace
2. Front shocks - rebuild (may as well go the whole hog
3. Gear lever (currently missing - may need to check the gear box)
4. Brakes (front and back)
5. Sprockets (front and back) and chain (along with chain guide)
6. Body work - tank is done, left side panel is missing (to be replaced) and a seat is needed (the current seat is from a TT600). Other than this, all other plastics have been refurbished and are in place. Decals need to be placed once all is complete.

Based on the above (and based on the experience of those on this forum) is there anything more that I should be aware of / take into consideration / check up on / be concerned about?

Papers - the bike comes with papers, but are in the name of a previous owner (who may / may not be contactable). Obviously the bike is not currently roadworthy and have not been registered for the past three years.

Any sage advise would be greatly appreciated; thanks in advance.
