I've finally made the call to put the XRL up for sale. Since I've bought the 1190 the XRL never gets used anymore.
Further than that, even before the 1190 I've only done 5000kms on the XRL in the past 3 years.
Seems like the riding I do, and the time I have for playing, has dramatically changed.
I've had the bike since new, and done 45 195km on it. Bike has always been kept in an enclosed garage. Modifications I've done (and had done):
Smaller (white) front mudguard
Extreme lights spotlights wired up on seperate switch
Cigarette and USB Aux power on handlebars
Clark 18L long range tank
Airbox mod (not sure what - Dux did that one)
Carb mod (same thing - Dux did it)
Desmogging kit
30mm bar raisers
Wide footpegs
Full soft - luggage system (Halfdaft top rack, custom side racks)
Halfdaft subframe supports
Oversized high compression piston
Zeta handguards
Included in the sale:
Original front mudguard
Original tank and tank-shrouds
Dakar style fibreglass fairing
Perspex Hyde fairing (broken, but still working)
Set of front brakepads
Original "handguards"
The initial services were done by Honda (and stamped in the book). From there Donald (Motoworx, Dux on the forum) and Julian (Superbike Solutions) did all the maintenance work.
Top-end was done by Julian on 40 000kms.
Full inspection done by Dux on 44 000kms (almost 3 years later).
Honesty section:
Bike will need new sprockets and chain in about 1000kms
Tires are due to be replaced
Plastics arent in "as new" condition, but not cracked or damaged
Paint on luggage rack showing bottom coat (as per photo)
The plastic of the speedo has a weird internal crack (only visible from certain angles)
One spotlight mounting worn out - pooratech fix
The bike is not in a showroom condition, as it has been lovingly used (not abused) over the past 8 years. But, it goes great, and has heaps of power.
Listing on Gumtree for R45k, Willdogs price R40k. If anyone's interested, make me an offer which you think reflexts the bike's value. It's not financed, so there is no "I need to get Rx to settle".
