From Alex, the race Director:
A couple of firsts this year:
1) First year we almost cancelled. Never again!!
2) First year we sleep in another bivouac every evening.
3) First year we cross the border into another African country, even if its just for fuel! Next year! Watch this space closely!!
4) And the first year we will have 4 trophy's! 1st to 3rd is self explanatory, but the smallest and strongest of the three, is the 'Amadoda Yamadoda' prize. In Xhosa the meaning is 'Man Amongst Men'. The winner of this prize will be decided through a vote by the marshals and media team. This man displayed courage and endurance above and beyond human capacity.
To be considered for any of the above you will have to had completed all three stages without exceeding any stage cut-off time or be disqualified from a stage.
Epic!
So who are going to get these trophies???
Adrian Storm's bike
Speedmetal & Markdiver on their way yesterday, they must be in Gordon's Bay today.
N[]va seen shortly before his now famous faceplant in Altantis.
