Good day to all. My first post, go easy on me.
Have a 1200 GS Adv and every time I want to do a 1000k trip on tar the bike needs to go in to have the tires changed to road tires. Then I want to go to bush, the bike needs to go in to have my knobblies fitted. All this tire changing can damage the rims and the tires.
1 Is it worth it having a second set of complete wheels - front and back?
2 How long would it take to change over the front and the back wheel?
3 Just how technical would it be? Do the brakes have and discs have to be changed etc etc.
4 Are second hand rims available or would one have to buy new?
5 What would new rims cost for 2009 BMW R1200 GS Adv?
I prefer to "never" compromise on safety if at all possible - Would like to know that if I am riding on tar I have the correct tires at the correct pressures, same applies to going on rough off road day trips - would like to have the correct equipment on line.
Ok, thanks guys.
( Love reading this website, have read almost all the posts, learned a lot. Some really good posts on here.)
