I bought a 2001 650 GS with the 100/90 x 19" front wheel. I am not very impressed with the handling in corners compared to my current KLR and previous Dakar with 21" front wheels. It town on tar it is quite sensitive and it feels like it wants to cut / overstear by itself in corners.
How big a change will it be to change to a 21". Can I only buy a new rim and install it on the current hub with new spokes? Do I need to do changes regarding the speedo? Will the 21" fit under the current aluminium bracket between the front forks situated above the wheel? What will this change cost?
I bought the bike for my wife as she is a fresh new biker and I need to teach her to ride on this bike, but I am afraid for this "sensitive" front wheel.
