So, ive been scratching around on the bike after cleaning the airfilter and noticed that my frame is starting to crack, as well as the top mounting point of the rear shock.

Went around to Yamaha and they advised that i must get it welded.  Just for a laugh i asked them for a price on a new frame.  R25,000.00... i shat right there on the carpet...  ;).  Ontop of the frame costs, there will be close to 15 - 16 hours labour to rebuild apparently.

The bike is a 2011, 40000 km, have never been in an accident, frame is not bent at all, so all that i can think of is that the crack is due to vibration / metal fatigue.  one can see the crack originates from a welded spot.

Any advise on this.  would welding be sufficient if you have it done properly?
