My bike has done quite a bit of off-road work since I decided to keep it. I suspect that mud and stones from front wheel 660 will eventually pit the frame above the bash plate so decided to fit this shield which attaches to lower radiator points and is pop-riveted to top of plastic bash plate. For oil change it will drop down with the bash plate to access front drain plug.

After todays mud sports it seems to work. Engine behind shield mooi clean too. This one was made of my kid's Lactogen tin  but the final item will have to be black. Maybe anodised aluminium?

Final item made of 2mm mild steel. etch primer and Duram polyurethane painted with roller, oven-baked at below 70 'C between coats = moer of a strong chip resistant coating.
