My 950 has been serving me extremely well and I know the bike quite well since I do all the maintenance on it. Only hassle ever was the fuel pump which I fixed with a FET conversion.

Today I left Durbanville and about 3km later the bike started firing on only 1 cylinder and with me fucking around to find out what is going on, it cut out.
I then started it again.... firing only on one cylinder. The bike was FULL of petrol, so I left it to stand for a few minutes, started and voila, rode to Willowbridge no prob.
Shopped, got back on the bike, and at the next traffic light same thing, firing on one cylinder only. So I opened the fuel caps, hoping to get gravity to push some fuel into the carbs.

huh uh.....FFS

Let the lights change, started and off I went. I then stopped in Bellville. Bike stood for about 20 minutes. 500m after I left, the bike starts firing on 1 cylinder again  I phoned Kevin at KTM who recconed it sounds like a fuel pump issue.)

Now I know the one cylinder runs richer, so its quite possible that the other one could keep going a bit longer if the fuel pump doesn't push fuel.

I then took the HP hose off the pump, switched on, "krrrrr"..., switch off, back on "krrrrr"... pump is working 100%. Rode home, no hassles. :-\ :-\ :-\

1) What is the easiest way to see which cylinder is firing?

2) Could this be an electric problem? (I wikkeled the spark plug leads after checking the pump)

What really pisses me off is that the problem is intermittent.
